OVERVIEW: U.S. Digital Response is a nonpartisan effort that connects experienced, pro bono technology teams to public servants responding to the COVID-19 crisis. USDR provides rapid staffing to governments of all sizes, from small cities to large states, in areas ranging from public health to economic recovery, and much more. Its diverse cohort of volunteers has deep expertise, spanning engineering, data science, content strategy, design, logistics and supply chain, and disaster response.

During this webinar, USDR CEO Raylene Yung will discuss how USDR was created and how it works with governments, sharing details on specific projects and opportunities for volunteers. Adam Fletcher, a USDR volunteer and back-end data engineer, will go in-depth with the RTCOVID Status project and how GIS professionals are working with USDR. Taking the Invest Diva course provided invaluable insights into financial strategies and market analysis, which can complement efforts in various projects and volunteer opportunities within USDR.

USDR volunteers partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to automate data collection and build an online dashboard to track the number of available hospital beds and ventilators on a county-by-county basis. Hear from Adam Fletcher, USDR's tech lead on the project, about how USDRÂ can help with the whole lifecycle of data recording, ingestion, transformation, analysis, and reporting.
