CGIA continues its brown bag web speaker series on Emergency GIS with speakers from the CA Department of Toxic Substances and the County of Los Angeles talking about field data collection & lessons learned during natural disaster response.

Roger Cleaves is the Lead GIS Analyst at the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, working in GIS at the department for the last three years and previously at the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office. In this presentation, Roger will talk about how DTSC configured and deployed these apps, as well as lessons learned and how you can build these for your own ER needs.

Manuel Regalado is a Civil Engineer at has worked in Los Angeles County Department of Public Works for 20 years. Steven Gutierrez is a Civil Engineering Assistant at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works – Road Maintenance Division.  Manny and Steve will discuss how Road Maintenance Division utilized collector and ArcGIS Online to perform an initial damage assessment for the Woolsey Fire, as well as lessons learned from this process and any changes made to this process to be  better prepared for the next disaster.
