CGIA Board Nominations for 2019-2020 Now Open!

Election time for the California Geographic Information Association (CGIA) Board is upon us, and CGIA is accepting nominations for new board members!  A board member serves for two years, under one of a number of categories.  You can see the current list here: https://cgia.org/about-cgia/board-of-directors/

Because we are still in need of nominations, the deadline for nominations to the California Geographic Information Association (CGIA) Board is being EXTENDED to Wednesday, June 5th at 5:00 PM

Board Officer positions open for nominations:

  • Vice Chair
  • Secretary

Board Member Categories open for nomination:

  • Federal Government
  • City Government
  • County Government
  • Regional Governments and Districts
  • State Governments
  • Education
  • Private Sector Companies

We meet every two months for 1-2 hours online, and help set the tone and direction of CGIA for the coming year.  It isn’t a huge time commitment, however we do want to have engaged and opinionated folks to help drive CGIA’s mission to facilitate the growth of GIS in the state.

You can nominate yourself or someone that you think will do a good job in the position.  You can nominate a non-CGIA member as well (but they would need to become a member to join the board).

The Nomination Form is a fillable PDF file (click here to download).  Please complete the form and name the file according to the nominee's name in the following format “CGIA_2019_Firstname_LastName.pdf."

Submit the completed form to Membership@CGIA.org .

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact Dave Powers at dpowers@co.shasta.ca.us or Steve Kincaid at skincaid@cityofredding.org.

The nomination period is open has been EXTENDED and will CLOSE at 5:00 PM PST on Wednesday, June 5th.
