Our client, a Southern California based Esri Gold Partner specializing in GIS consulting services, has an opening in Southern California for a Senior Web GIS Developer with the following skills:RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide billable Senior Web GIS Developer services to our clients
- Design and develop web GIS applications leveraging ArcGIS for Server, Geocortex Essentials, and other Esri and third party server technologies.
- Create application development plans and effort estimates by reviewing client requirements / software
specifications
- Design and develop web applications and integrations independently or jointly with a team of developers
- Support existing applications by identifying areas for improvement and fixing bugs reported by customers
- Vigorously participate in internal discussions about design approaches and cost estimates for new projects
- Establish and maintain strong, healthy relationships with clients
- Work as part of the larger international NSG Group team sharing information and interacting with clients’ task components
- Lead and guide small groups of developers on larger development projects
- Perform related duties as assigned
Required Skills- Proven recent 7 years of experience in .NET web development using C# and ASP.NET
- Experience in the development of ArcGIS for Server 10.x applications. Experience with Silverlight API strongly preferred. HTML5 experience is a plus.
- Consumption and manipulation of ArcGIS for Server SOAP, REST and WMS Services
- Strong knowledge of ArcGIS for Server software including the ArcGIS REST API, dynamic and cached map services, feature services, image services, locators etc. and their use in web GIS applications
- Experience in working with ArcSDE / SQL Server / Oracle enterprise geodatabases
- Ability and willingness to create complete and detailed documentation for all coding projects
- Excellent English, both written and spoken, and comfort communicating with a variety of clients, staff, and other professionals
- Strong team orientation, and ability to work with global virtual teams, and with non-developer staff
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with strong development experience (other applicants may be considered if possessing equivalent development skills and knowledge of best practice development patterns) Seven years of current, paid professional experience in developing web GIS applications with Esri ArcGIS for
Server.
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing web-based map viewers and mapping tools for ArcGIS for Server Map Services
- Expertise in creating code to query/read/write/manipulate data stored in relational database systems (ArcSDE, SQL Server, Oracle, Access, etc.)
- Experience with Latitude Geographics’ Geocortex Essentials
- Experience in security issues and resolutions for data and services
- Experience using ArcGIS for Server geoprocessing services, including developing Python scripts
- Ability to create intuitive user interfaces and tools that will appeal to both novice and expert users of geospatial applications
- Ability to look at requirements from the perspective of the end user and create tools that will work well under real world conditions for ordinary users
- A knack for recognizing and fixing design flaws before they are experienced by the end user
- Experience in leading other developers on larger development projects, including code design and review
- Experience in iOS and/or Android native app development
- Experience with HTML5
- Security clearance is a plus |
