Deadline for Executive Committee Nominations – October 11, 2019

We are still seeking folks to nominate themselves to serve on the Executive Council of the California GIS Council. The deadline is October 11, 2019 and term will run through September 30, 2020. In the coming months the Council will be reviewing its Charter and working on a Strategic Plan to fulfill its mission. This is also a great opportunity to earn points towards your GIS Professional Certification!

As outlined in the Council Charter, the Executive Committee assists the Chair and Vice-Chair in the governance of the Council “on internal business matters such as developing agendas for Council meetings, maintaining the Council website, supporting communications, holding elections, responding to requests from Council members or constituencies, and establishing workgroups.” The Executive Committee is comprised of one representative from each of the Council constituencies, or an alternate designee for open constituencies.

We are especially seeking nominations to represent the following constituencies:

  • State Government
  • Federal Government
  • City Government
  • Tribal Government
  • Regional Government and Regional GIS Councils
  • Special Districts
  • Education
  • Private Industry
  • Professional Associations
  • Non-profit Organizations
  • Public and Private Utilities

If we receive more than one nominee from any particular constituency, we will hold an election. To nominate yourself, please use the form at this link:
