The California Geographic Information Association (CGIA) is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 CGIA Awards Program, celebrating excellence in Geographic Information Systems across the Golden State.
Open to all Californians, the CGIA Awards recognize outstanding individuals, innovative projects, and collaborative organizations that are advancing the field of GIS.

- Excellence and Innovation
Recognizes the outstanding application of geospatial technology through innovative, elegant, or creative approaches to analysis, mapping, data management, or automation. - Coordination and Collaboration
Honors collaborative development of geospatial data, approaches, or technologies within the state of California. - Mapping and Visualization
Celebrates creativity and excellence in map design and data visualization. - Student Award
Spotlights emerging talent from the next generation of GIS professionals. - Excellence in Teaching
Honors educators and mentors who inspire and shape future GIS leaders. - Chair’s Award
Presented based on criteria selected by the CGIA Chair.

The 2026 CGIA Awards will be hosted in conjunction with the ESRI User Conference. The event will take place at Revel Revel in San Diego on Monday, July 13. Additional details will be shared closer to the event date.
