As of 2025, the CGIA Community Council, formerly the California GIS Council, is now known as the CGIA Community Forum. New events are posted on the CGIA main page.
The goal of the CGIA Community Council is to enable the California geospatial community to work together to develop, maintain and share accurate, consistent place-based information that is accessible to the general public and the agencies and organizations that serve them.
CGIA coordinates with the Council to focus on statewide GIS issues - the Council is focused more on working relationships and data creation, while CGIA is focused on more personal relationships.
