{"id":785,"date":"2018-05-01T10:15:28","date_gmt":"2018-05-01T17:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cgia.org\/cagiscouncil\/?p=785"},"modified":"2018-05-01T10:15:28","modified_gmt":"2018-05-01T17:15:28","slug":"usgs-3dep-lidar-planning-platform-open-for-your-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cgia.org\/cagiscouncil\/2018\/05\/01\/usgs-3dep-lidar-planning-platform-open-for-your-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"USGS 3DEP lidar planning platform&#8211;open for your updates!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Everyone:<\/p>\n<p>The 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) continues to utilize the NOAA sponsored <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seasketch.org\/#projecthomepage\/5272840f6ec5f42d210016e4\">Seasketch:\u00a0 U.S. Federal Mapping Coordination \u2013 A Demonstration Site for Federal Mapping Data Acquisition Coordination<\/a>) site for planning, coordinating partnerships, and tracking elevation data acquisition projects.\u00a0 The system supports the maintenance and publishing of<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mapping Priorities: Needs, Requirements<\/li>\n<li>Planned and Ongoing Mapping Projects<\/li>\n<li>Existing Data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The USGS anticipates funding another round of projects through the USGS Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) in FY19.\u00a0 The FY19 BAA is expected to be released through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.grants.gov\">www.grants.gov<\/a> and FedBizOpps (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fbo.gov\">www.fbo.gov<\/a>) in August 2018.\u00a0 Public webinars to share details and answer questions on the FY19 release will be held in mid August 2018; details on these and other coordination and outreach opportunities will be posted on <a href=\"http:\/\/nationalmap.gov\/3DEP\/\">http:\/\/nationalmap.gov\/3DEP\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Federal, State and Local stakeholders are actively utilizing Seasketch to identify areas of overlapping interest in preparation for the upcoming BAA.\u00a0 3DEP invites you to utilize the updated <a href=\"https:\/\/survey.geoplatform.gov\/index.php\/survey\/index\/sid\/318317\/\">Public 3DEP Project Collector Tool<\/a> to enter new AOIs under consideration for acquisition in the next 1 to 3 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bIf you previously posted a footprint that is no longer valid, or needs to be modified due to subsequent collections or changes in requirements, please notify Carol (<a href=\"mailto:costergren@usgs.gov\">costergren@usgs.gov<\/a>) or Drew (<a href=\"mailto:ddecker@usgs.gov\">ddecker@usgs.gov<\/a>) to have footprints removed or swapped out. \u200b<\/p>\n<p>Should you have any problems utilizing the updated Public 3DEP Project Collector Tool please contact Diana Thunen (<a href=\"mailto:dthunen@usgs.gov\">dthunen@usgs.gov<\/a>).\u00a0\u00a0 Please note that the Public 3DEP Project Collector tool is for non-federal participants only (federal participants with questions on how to input their areas of interest can also contact Diana Thunen).\u200b<\/p>\n<p>General questions regarding the 3DEP Program may be submitted to 3dep@usgs.gov.\u00a0 General questions regarding the BAA may be submitted to <a href=\"mailto:gs_baa@usgs.gov\">gs_baa@usgs.gov<\/a>.
