This training is essential for anyone who wishes to participate in NHD stewardship or become an NHD sub-steward.\u00a0 This is <strong>not<\/strong> a training on how to use NHD.<\/p>\n<p>There are two three-day trainings in Sacramento: September 20 \u2013 22, 2016 and again from September 27 \u2013 29, 2016.\u00a0 The trainings are from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM all three days.\u00a0 The two trainings are the same; the second week is a repeat of the first week.\u00a0 If you want to attend, then select one training; you do not have to attend both weeks.\u00a0 Each training is a combination of two courses: a two-day course for editing NHD and a one-day course for editing Watershed Boundaries Dataset.\u00a0 (Each dataset has its own editing tools.)<\/p>\n<p>DWR will hold both trainings at the USFS Wildland Fire and Training Center in McClellan Park, Sacramento, California.<\/p>\n<p>The course is free, but you have to provide for your own travel, room and board.\u00a0 You will have to bring a laptop.<\/p>\n<p>There are about six positions available for each training.\u00a0 DWR is offering these positions on a first-come basis to anyone who is interested.\u00a0 Please email Greg Smith at DWR to register for one of the trainings.\u00a0 His email is <a href=\"mailto:Greg.Smith@water.ca.gov\">Greg.Smith@water.ca.gov<\/a>.\u00a0 The last day to register is September 14, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>If you have questions, please contact Jane Schafer-Kramer at 916.653.4441 or Greg Smith at 916.653.6410.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to learn about the NHD and how to use it in your work, we encourage you to check out these training videos:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nhd.usgs.gov\/videos_demos.html#.V73bDZgrJ2R\">http:\/\/nhd.usgs.gov\/videos_demos.html#.V73bDZgrJ2R<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The California Department of Water Resources is sponsoring two sessions of training on the National Hydrography Dataset editing tools, which will be taught by USGS.
