NOAA has just released a\u00a0Request for Information (RFI) on Equitable Climate Service Delivery<\/a>\u00a0that seeks feedback on how NOAA can increase capacity and access to climate services for climate preparedness, resilience, and adaptation planning in historically underserved communities-including Tribal and Indigenous communities\u2013as well as how the agency can better include Indigenous and local knowledge in our climate services.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building on NOAA’s\u00a0Climate Equity Roundtables<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Pilots<\/a>, and its efforts to\u00a0build a Climate Ready<\/a> Nation, data gathered from the RFI will be used to develop an Action Plan designed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.       Make NOAA’s climate services more accessible, understandable, usable, inclusive of the social and economic impacts of climate change, and capable of addressing complex hazards, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.       Build capacity for and support users of all disciplines and backgrounds, particularly historically underserved communities and Tribal communities, by expanding science literacy and successfully applying climate services to science-based decisions about climate risk and resilience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
