{"id":39841,"date":"2023-06-30T09:34:02","date_gmt":"2023-06-30T16:34:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cgia.org\/cagiscouncil\/?p=39841"},"modified":"2023-06-30T09:34:06","modified_gmt":"2023-06-30T16:34:06","slug":"introducing-the-new-3dntm-data-collaboration-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cgia.org\/cagiscouncil\/2023\/06\/30\/introducing-the-new-3dntm-data-collaboration-announcement\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing the new 3DNTM Data Collaboration Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The USGS National Geospatial Program is excited to announce the new&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usgs.gov\/programs\/national-geospatial-program\/data-collaboration-announcement-portal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>3D National Topography Model Data Collaboration Announcement (3DNTM DCA)<\/strong><\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Geospatial (NGP) program collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders to share acquisition costs for topographic data in support of collective mission requirements. Building on the success of the 3DEP Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), NGP is streamlining and broadening its data acquisition partnership process to better serve partners, users, and the public.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Highlights&nbsp;about the 3DNTM DCA:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Beginning in Federal Fiscal Year 2024, the&nbsp;<strong>3DNTM DCA will replace the 3DEP BAA&nbsp;<\/strong>as the process to partner on cost-sharing topographic data acquisition costs.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The 3DNTM DCA&nbsp;is intended to include data acquisition partnerships&nbsp;<strong>for both the&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>3D Elevation Program&nbsp;and the&nbsp;3D Hydrography Program<\/strong>as a step towards integration of&nbsp;elevation and hydrography in the 3D National Topography Model.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The&nbsp;process&nbsp;to solicit and select partnerships&nbsp;has been&nbsp;<strong>revised and streamlined<\/strong>, potentially decreasing timing constraints and providing greater flexibility in future years&nbsp;to&nbsp;benefit&nbsp;our&nbsp;partners.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional\u00a0information\u00a0and opportunities to learn more\u00a0will be added to the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usgs.gov\/programs\/national-geospatial-program\/data-collaboration-announcement-portal\" target=\"_blank\">3DNTM DCA\u00a0Portal<\/a>\u00a0as\u00a0they are\u00a0available, including details on an instructional webinar scheduled for\u00a0August 9th at 1:00 PM ET.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage and welcome your comments and questions!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drew Decker, ddecker@usgs.gov, is always available for a conversation.. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks again, to the community for your continued support in the pursuit of geographic science and open data.
