As geospatial tools and technology have permeated our world, geospatial applications are present in all aspects of our lives ranging from \u201ctraditional\u201d use in government, industry, and academia to emerging fields such as journalism, tourism, marketing, and many others.&nbsp; Regardless of how you implement geospatial technology in your work, we encourage you to share. Check out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urisa.org\/calgis\">this page<\/a> for more details on the conference.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><u>About Presentation Proposals<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Call for Presentation Proposals &#8211; Due November 30, 2022<\/span><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The 2023 Planning Committee welcomes the submission of complete sessions, individual presentations, mini-workshops, panel discussions, and lightning talks. These will be scheduled for either <em>Tuesday, March 14 or Wednesday, March 15<\/em>. We welcome topics of interest at all levels, from beginner to expert.&nbsp; All proposals received will be reviewed and considered for the program.<br><br><strong>Presentation Format:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Complete session<\/strong>\u2014Comprised of one subject covered by one or more presenters. The expectation is that the depth and complexity of the issue merits a longer time. This can be composed of one or multiple presenters to be arranged by the person submitting the proposal.&nbsp; A complete session is 90 minutes in length.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Individual presentation<\/strong>\u2014a single presentation that will be scheduled on its own. Each presenter is allotted approximately 25 minutes, including questions from the attendees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Panel discussion<\/strong> \u2014A panel is a 60\u201390-minute presentation encouraging interaction and discussion between the panelists and the audience. Panel presentations should include at least three panelists, all speaking on aspects of a particular topic. The names of the moderator and panelists should be specified in the proposal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mini-workshop<\/strong>\u2014A 90-minute seminar, forum, or tutorial presented by an individual or small team on a particular topic. Topics could range from a technical \u201chow-to\u201d to policy and governance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lightning talk<\/strong> \u2013 An 8-minute fast-paced short-form talk; slides are optional.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><u>About Workshop Proposals<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Call for Workshop Proposals \u2013 Due November 30, 2022<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you enjoy teaching\/presenting?&nbsp; Want to help transfer knowledge to the GIS community in California?&nbsp; We are soliciting educational content and instructors for full-day and half-day workshops. These courses are scheduled for <em>Monday, March 13<\/em>, and attendance at one workshop is included with full registration. Suggested topics are provided for general reference only.&nbsp; We welcome workshop topics of interest at all levels of expertise, from beginner to expert.&nbsp; Learning objectives and takeaways will be vitally important components of your proposal, along with a full course outline, any prerequisites or knowledge required, classroom setup needs, and instructors&#8217; biographies.
