The event is open to the public, and registration is free.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geodesy.noaa.gov\/geospatial-summit\/registration.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Registration<\/a>\u00a0information is available online.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2021 Geospatial Summit will provide updated information about the planned modernization of the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS). Briefly:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>NGS plans to replace the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83) and the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88) in the coming years.\u00a0<\/li><li>NSRS Modernization will impact federal mapping agencies, engineers, surveyors, and many other geospatial applications and user groups.\u00a0<\/li><li>This event will continue discussions from previous Geospatial Summits held in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geodesy.noaa.gov\/2010Summit\/proceedings.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2010<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geodesy.noaa.gov\/2015GeospatialSummit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2015<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geodesy.noaa.gov\/geospatial-summit\/year-2017\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2017<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geodesy.noaa.gov\/geospatial-summit\/year-2019\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2019<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Attend this year\u2019s Geospatial Summit to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>hear about NGS\u2019s progress in modernizing the NSRS;&nbsp;<\/li><li>learn about the benefits of NSRS modernization;&nbsp;<\/li><li>prepare for how the transition will impact your work;&nbsp;<\/li><li>ask questions of NGS experts;&nbsp;<\/li><li>and share your feedback about the planned changes.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional information about the 2021 Geospatial Summit will be posted online.
