CGIA is a non-profit, statewide association formed in 1994 to facilitate coordination, collaboration and advocacy for California's Geographic Information System (GIS) community. CGIA promotes the creation and maintenance of the best practices in the governance and application of geographic information within the state of California that can become a model for the nation.

Membership Options
Regular: Anyone interested in advancing the objectives of CGIA is eligible to join as a Regular member. Regular membership dues are $50 per year. | |
Student: Anyone actively enrolled in an institution of higher learning for at least a half-time curriculum is eligible to join CGIA as a Student member. The Student membership classification is limited to a maximum of six (6) years. To apply as a Student member, you must submit a copy of your current class schedule or a similar document as verification of school enrollment. Student membership dues are $25 per year. | |
Sustaining - Private: Sustaining membership can apply as either an individual or business. Sustaining member organizations are entitled to 10 individual memberships. Please submit a list of authorized members who can represent the organization, as an attachment to their membership application form, mailed to the address shown on the form. An authorized representative may vote on behalf of the organization and may serve for the fiscal year covered by the applicable dues payment. Sustaining membership dues are $500 per year. | |
Sustaining - Non-Profit, Education, or Tribal: Non-Profit / Education membership can apply to either an individual or organization. Nonprofit/Education membership applies to all educational institutions, URISA chapters, and Regional Collaboratives that have a nonprofit status. Non-Profit/Education organization members are entitled to 10 individual memberships. Please submit a list of authorized members who can represent the organization, as an attachment to their membership application form, mailed to the address shown on the form. An authorized representative may vote on behalf of the organization and may serve for the fiscal year covered by the applicable dues payment. Non-Profit/Education membership dues are $250 per year. | |

All CGIA Members in good standing, whether classified as Regular, Student, Sustaining - Private, or Sustaining - Non-Profit/Education/Tribal have the right to vote on matters put before the general membership, may run for elected office, and may serve on committees.
