The Tober family began working with Parcelquest in 2006. Denise initially started because Parcelquest needed someone to read the legals and draw the cadastral maps for Trinity County and that position quickly turned full-time with the addition of the maintenance of the statewide parcel basemaps. Trisha was brought on to help create a few of the actual county parcels that did not exist at that time which are still used today. Tracy was brought on shortly after to help with the parcel basemap maintenance.
Trisha’s initial mapping influence was watching her mom sketch out legal descriptions with her interchangeable colored mechanical pencil when she brought work home at night. Tracy’s influence began when she would visit Denise at the county office after school, every day, where she was fascinated by the rolls of maps on the drafting tables.
Currently the mapping staff at Parcelquest is the mapping department for 7 California counties and maintains the parcel layer in house for the majority of the rest of the State. There has been a lot of learning and collaboration over the years as Parcelquest has grown into the company it is today and the Tober family has had a heavy hand in that growth. It has been wonderful to share this vast industry that is GIS with my daughters. One might expect that the Tober family will be a part of Parcelquest for quite some time as Denise’s mother is 107 years old and still going strong!!
Denise spends most of her time with grandsons and old dogs. Someday she and her husband would like to get traveling especially because we are foodies.
Tracy loves to spend her time hiking with her dogs, discovering LA through secret stair walks, playing escape rooms, and cooking with the abundance of fruits and vegetables available at our local farmer’s markets.
Trisha is recently married. She and her husband spend a lot of time with their son’s activities and their hobby scuba diving.
