Little Hoover Commission, an independent state oversight agency, released its report on California's GIS data and leadership status.
The report recommends that "...the state designates a state Geographic Information Officer to coordinate projects, promulgate standards, and manage shared resources; that the state creates a GIS Advisory Council of governmental leaders and other stakeholders; and that the state uses GIS to evaluate regional disparities in funding and the delivery of services."Â The report was submitted to the Governor and the Legislature.
