This position will be approximately 40% teaching and 60% GIS lab management. Teach available introductory undergraduate level courses (3 – 6 units) as needed. The successful candidate will be expected to manage our GIS/Remote sensing teaching and research labs. This includes but not limited to the following: supervise student lab-technicians who are hired to assist undergraduate and graduate students; interact with students to address student lab and GIS-related issues; oversee computer software and hardware configuration, work closely with technical groups regarding lab and server configurations, and work with faculty to design setup; manage and maintain the database systems architecture to serve faculty and student needs, and access to a variety of geospatial datasets. Conduct special projects for the Chair of Geography and Director of the Masters in Geographic Information Science (MSGISci).
