The City of Thousand Oaks is currently accepting applications for a part-time, hourly Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Aide in the Public Works Department.
Salary: $18.36 per hour
This hourly, at-will position involves working approximately 15 – 18 hours per week, and will not exceed 1,000 hours per fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th).
The ideal candidate shall:
- Have experience using ArcMap(.mxd files), to create maps analyze spatial data, and edit feature locations, attributes and annotations;
- Possess experience in georeferencing (.tiff files) to create digitized data, preferably with experience digitizing utility data from engineering drawings;
- Be detail oriented and responsible for data accuracy;
- Have experience answering questions and supporting decisions regarding maps;
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; and,
- Be a team player who works well with others, is motivated, and provides excellent customer service.
