The Natural Resources Agency in Sacramento is recruiting to fill one vacancy at the Senior Programmer Analyst (Specialist) level.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the CERES Director (CEA 1), the Senior Programmer Analyst (Specialist) provides expert-level enterprise geospatial systems development and operational services for the California Natural Resources Agency. Position performs complex technical activities and tasks associated with the development and maintenance of applications and systems for the agency-wide community of Geospatial Information System (GIS) professionals and program areas who are clients of the California Environmental Resources Evaluation System (CERES) Program. The Senior Program Analyst (Specialist) serves as a subject matter expert providing leadership, consultation, and technical services in the areas of analysis, design, development, deployment, and maintenance of the most complex enterprise GIS applications and systems development efforts that support and enable Resources Agency departments and programs to meet their business objectives. The position is responsible for the complete systems development life-cycle of enterprise geospatial technology solutions, including: application architecture; design and documentation of applications; web-services development; application code and framework services; and database and GIS Dataset designs. Incumbent is also responsible for the system administration and operational maintenance of the Agency’s Enterprise GIS system platforms. The position provides technical expertise for the development of reusable GIS components, shared GIS web-services, and enterprise GIS system platform components. Serves as a technical leader and advisor on complex projects and/or works independently on the most complex technical assignments.
